hi currently i’m using an YamahaFazer [FZ 16], i’ve done 2 services, but still confused which engine oil should i use?
i’m currently using Yamalube 15-50 SemiSyntheic, but still the engine heat is not reduced and i feel there is no change on changing to semi synthetic, is there any better choice than Yamalube?
is Synthetic Better than SemiSynthetic ? , please explain in detail wrt Engine heating and which one gives long life for engine?
suggest me a better brand name, there are lot of companies available, Motul,Petronas,ELF,Shell,Castrol….which one should i go for preferably Synthetic, and its cost?

the cooling fan on my fazer comes on when i come to a stop at light after a long run,
QUESTION have you topped your cooling fluid up,
any make of motorcycle oil will do its personal preference,
if you go to the oil company’s web sites they will explain,
in short though they are mineral oil,
conventional oil is heat treated, & has a long molecular chain ,
synthetic is chemically treated, this has a shorter molecular chain so is tougher & lasts longer.
semi synthetic is a mix of both, so will last longer than stock mineral oil but not as long as full synthetic,
so semi or full do not need changing as frequent as conventional oil,
full synthetic can cause clutch slip on some bikes, i use semi & have had no problems with clutch slip on my honda dream s reg , yams diversion & fazer 03 an suzuki bandits07 & 08
also they can be mixed as they are all mineral oils,(now i will get thumbs down for this)lol
Here’s a great rule of thumb for today’s sophistimicated and overdeveloped motorcycles:
Use what the manufacturer recommends!
They’re the ones who would know…Until the racers have all had their say, and another brand or "type" is advised.
The best product in the world is no good without correct service intervals.
