2011/2012 Ford Super Duty Oil Change
My wife doesn’t drive her car very often. She hardly drives 1500 miles in 5 months. The rest of the time her car sits in the garage. She only drives to the local shopping malls and stores – maybe 3 times a week. Since he never reaches 3000 miles in 3 months, does she still need to change her motor oil every three or four months? How long can she safely wait between each oil change?
I have seen spotless floors that are cleaned each night in a Pep Boys – right on the concrete garage floors over which they change people’s oil. What are they using?
The garage floor of my rental house has a little of everything on it. Some oil stains from motor oil, some paint stains, etc. What would work best/easiest without scrubbing my fingers to the bone?
So I’m at Walmart getting some motor oil and wow these prices have jumped quite a bit since 3 months ago at my last oil change.
I’m use to using Pennzoil which runs .97 a quart now. But now I’m tempted to use that SelecTech brand (generic walmart) which is only .88 a quart.
Is this a good idea or will there be a MAJOR difference in performance, sludge, leaks, etc ?
Is there any real proven difference between Castrol, Pennzoil, SelecTech, etc?
hey guys just wondering if any of you guys use shell Rotella for your motorcycle? I ride a 600RR and due for an oil change! Went to walmart and they cost around 6 a quart and that seems like a better deal than motorcycle oil. I looked in the back and didnt really see energy conserving stuff but I believe this is used for tracotrs and cars. This is the one I saw BTW. Thanks

Oil Change Info
The owners manual for my air compressor mentions oil change times, But says nothing about what type or weight of oil to use.
Does air compressor pumps use a special oil, or do they use normal motor oil?
Would they be any benefit’s from using synthetic oils such as mobil-1 ? And what weight would I need? Any other info would be great!
BTW: The pump is a single stage, 3-cyl pump. 5hp, 16.7 CFM @90psi (rated)
Thanks for your time!
I got the cmpressor from northern tool, It’s a remanufactured kobalt unit sold under the name Morgan.
Asking northern tool was a mistake, One old man said "it don’t need oil. All the new compressors are oil less" The other old man said the oil never needs changed… The morgan series compressors are sold only on-line. So they have no idea what Im talking about.
I can’t find any websites on info on the Morgan brand either.

quick question…
I went in for an oil change the other day and I decided to try the new Pennzoil Ultra motor oil. Like all synthetics, the oil burns off after a while and I need to replace that burnt off oil in my engine. I have Mobil 1 full synthetic and I want to know if this new synthetic is approved to work with other synthetic oils. In other words, can I pour in my Mobil 1 synthetic oil into my car and not have it cause any problems with the new Pennzoil Ultra. I am unaware if there is any real difference between the two synthetics. Since they both are synthetic oil I am assuming I can? Please Help!!!

I was thinking if anyone has any experience with Wal-Mart’s brand of motor oil called "Super Tech". Its cheap & I was thinking of using it for my car for the next oil change.
I usually use Mobil 5W30 but the price difference is huge compared to the ‘Super Tech’ brand. Any comments?. Thank you.

Oil Change Info
I work at a quick lube & oil change shop in north seattle. I have been to several stores that sell work and protective gloves and am not sure if any of their gloves will be able to stand up to the massive amount of oil that would they would soak in every day. I have tried Atlas Thermal gloves that I enjoy very much for other projects and jobs, however they absorb much of the dirty used oil and after a day of changing oil they begin to warp and basicly go bad. I’m pretty sure that any glove i get will have engough grip for my application, what I am concerned about is their ability to not deteriorate after being soaked in used motor oil and other automotive fluids, and that they not absorb the oil, so myhands may be protected from contacting oil. I also must be able to spin drain plugs with my fingers so the grip on the insides of the fingers cannot grip each other like some rubber gloves.
currently we have disposible nitral gloves that do alright however I would also like the advantages of keeping me warm on cold days, extra grip and comfort.
anyway, what are some brands or models of gloves that I should look for that would be appropriate and long lasting, for my application.
