And would changing it after 6200 miles void a dealer warranty?

This is a basic run-down of what is involved when changing the oil on the new Ducati Diavel. The process is pretty much identical to the 848, 1098, 1198, and Streetfighter engines, but for those who haven’t done an oil change on any Ducatis, this will get you going. Tools needed; -5mm & 4mm allen drive sockets -Ratchet -Torque wrench -Oil filter socket or other filter tool, 17mm wrench for K&N KN-153. -Flat head screwdriver and rubber mallet (in case the oil filter is stuck) -needle nose pliers -Ducati ThreeBond 1215 (or other high temp liquid gasket) -funnel (when refilling) -oil pan -shop light (optional) -OIL! -Bucket or other container for old oil. Full Synthetic 4T 10w40, 15w50, or any other weight for your local ambient temperatures listed in the manual. I prefer Mobil 1 4T Racing Full Synthetic, Motul 4T Racing Full Synthetic, or Repsol 4T Racing Full Synthetic. Oil filter is Ducati part # 444.4.003.5A or a K&N KN-153.

I have a 2002 lincoln ls v8 with 107000 miles and its paid for although i still carry full coverage insurance. The car takes high octane gas and takes 55-65 to fill up weekly going 350 miles give or take. Maintenance also is expensive with oil changes taking 6 qts of synthetic. ive done some repairs on it coil changes brakes tires, etc. I am looking at trading for a new fiesta (not a loaded mid grade one)for the gas mileage and just to downgrade for maintenance costs with a car over 100k miles. I can afford to repair the lincoln if had to be I just dont want to. I do qualify for the ford employee discount x or z and with trade in a loan and the monthly cost of gas is comparable to just the cost of gas i pay for in the Lincoln. With the new car i would receive warranty and new car. should i trade?

i purchases this MTD yard machine last year from home depot, i only used it once or twice this season. but i notice when its started there was a little white smoke that blew out, but it ran fine. well yesterday we added oil, and was running it, then noticed a big cloud of white smoke and we hurried and shut it off. I was planning to get it the servicing this week, but wanted to hurry and cut before the rain, i have concerned about starting it up right now. i am taking it today to get the oil change, spark plug changed and lube, but very curious on the white smoke
the yard is not a huge yard either, probably less then an acre
how much oil do riding mowers usually hold? the smoke came out the front of the mower.
low and behold, i checked the oil level and there was way too much oil in it, it sat like that overnight but i drained it out, i just hope it sitting there over night didnt damage it. Its going to be serviced today. its also still under warranty thru the manufacture, luckily the guy in our small village happens to be a MTD authorized dealer, so hopefully it just needs the oil change, cleanup, lube, axles greased, and all that good stuff.

      Hey you all,
I bought a 2010 Ford Fusion a month ago with 15000 miles. The car is very nice and drives great. Over the weekend check the oil level and discovered the car is losing oil. Last oil changed I put 5 quarter Mobil 1; it was showing full on stick and now showing losing a bout a quarter of oil. The car is under warranty and I am taking it dealer this week, just want to know 15000 miles losing oil is disappointing. Driven Toyota for many years and thought it was the time to test drives Ford. Any thought appreciated.

I found out my Accent has a broken seal, I guess in the engine. The quick lube would not change the oil as the car has NO oil in it now. I am trying to figure out if this falls under the Hyundai warranty at this point. The car has 55,000 miles on it. If not, what is the cost?

Tools needed; -5mm allen (or 5mm allen socket + torque wrench) -4mm allen -Oil filter socket or other filter tool -needle nose pliers -razer blade, box cutter, or other fine blade for the sump cover -Ducati ThreeBond 1215 (or other high temp liquid gasket) -funnel (when refilling) -oil pan -shop light (optional) -OIL! Full Synthetic 4T 10w40, 15w50, or any other weight for your local ambient temperatures listed in the manual. It looks like you may be able to use the 4A or a K&N KN-153, but I haven’t tested that yet. I’d let K&N figure that out first before trying your luck, but the KN-153 is the same filter for most of the other Ducatis, so I have to assume the only difference between bikes is filter length. The Diavel filter seems a bit short compared to the 1098.

From a local mechanic who looks pretty reputable it looks like I can get all of the following done for the prices indicated. I NEED to get an oil change, and I think my transmission may be leaking just a tad.

      1. Replace oil filter/oil/air filter… drain and refill transmission and radiator fluid, rotate tires, and just a thorough check of everything else. 169.00

      2. Brakes replaced, repack bearings if needed, top off fluid, and 12 month 12000 mile warranty on em. 99.00

      3. Replace fuel injectors. 69.00

So im looking at 340.00 for all of that, is that a fair price? Thanks! :D

Hello, I just had my oil changed at jiffy lube. I checked the receipt and found out that they put 5W-20 on my 2007 V6 Mustang. The owner’s manual says to apply 5W-30 on a V6. Is this in anyway going to damage my engine or cancel my warranty?

I bought a used rx8 that has a rotary engine and the guy was running mobil 1 in it. It has a rotary engine that is designed to burn oil so mazda doesnt advise running synthetic and it actually voids the warranty (please dont tell me it doesnt i contacted mazda and i researched it online also and it does). Regardless of the warranty, I want to switch to running regular oil next oil change. I know semi synthetics like mobil 1 mix with regular oils so would it be ok to just make the switch since there will be some of the oil left behind with a regular oil change? It has 72k miles on it.

I took my car for an oil change and jiffy lube told me I have an oil pan gasket leak. My car is leased and its a 2008, which I got brand new so they told me I should called dealership. I called dealership who said its only covered under warranty if its manufacturer problem but right away they said where do i get my oil change and then said "jiffy lube causes a lot of damage to cars" and so on. Now I feel they are going to scam me either way when I take it in. I called jiffy lube to say if they are blaming you why would this be. Jiffy lube told me they do not touch the oil pan gasket and when they change the oil it does not involve anything affecting the oil pan gasket. My dealership told me if they put something (not sure what) too tight or wrong size it can cause a leak. Is jiffy lube telling the truth that is cant be caused by them? Or is my dealership just scamming me?

        Thanks.

I drive a 2008 Toyota Camry. My husband says the oil should only be changed at the dealership where we bought the car. Oil changes are not covered under warranty, right?

Can you please tell me what difference, if any, it would make if I had the oil changed at the local Jiffy Lube? They do the same checks (fluids, filters and vacuum, etc.). Does it hurt a car if the last time the oil was changed, the Toyota dealership used Valvoline, but Jiffy Lube will use Pennzoil? What’s the difference between the oil filter Jiffy Lube will use versus an oil filter that has Toyota printed on it. Car has “real” oil in it now? Any difference between real oil and synthetic oil?

Just dropped off our ’05 Tahoe z71 for a possible leak in the rear differential. Dealer called and found Front Axel leak, Oil pan leak and the rear to be leaking. We have the extended warranty so all but 0 deductible is covered. He recommended we change the oil out in the rear and because it’s synthetic, it would be an additional 0. Is this necessary and the price (from the dealer) about right? Sometimes I think our "Podunk Town" local dealer charges too much. Is the oil that expensive and /or is the charge mostly labor?

BTW-We have never had the oil changed in the rear, we tow a boat and the mileage is 50k. If this makes a difference.

I own a ’08 Mitsubishi Lancer and was quoted by Mitsubishi dealer for 0.00 for an 15,000 oil change interval, just for the oil change itself. You guys think this is a good average price? Is it better to call other shops? Or do I have to stick with the dealership because of the warranty?
